Volkswagen Group of America’s Chattanooga Operations reached a major production milestone Thursday September 8, 2011 when the 10,000th Passat rolled off the line.
The Chattanooga plant just began production in May of 2011. ”A lot of hard work has gone into this milestone, and I’m very proud of our team for reaching the 10,000 cars produced mark while maintaining high quality,” said Frank Fischer, CEO and Chairman of Volkswagen Chattanooga.
In case you are interested, the 10,000th vehicle was a Candy White diesel-powered TDI. Hopefully someone local will get it with an auto loan in Chattanooga, TN approved through us! Congrats to another automaker hitting sales and production marks in the United States. Milestones like this are the underpinning of economic recovery.
